Employees are required to notify their supervisor immediately upon receiving a jury duty summons. Procedures: Consequence: Details: Jury duty is an important civic responsibility. Saint Francis University recognizes the obligation of its employees, as a citizen, to serve on a civil or criminal jury when summoned. All full-time university employees are eligible for paid time off with pay for jury duty that occurs during their regularly scheduled workday. This policy does not apply to court appearances related to personal matters, including but not linited to criminal or civil cases, traffic court, divorce proceedings. Employees who are called for jury duty must promptly inform their supervisor so appropriate work coverage can be arranged. A copy jury summons or subpeona must be provided to the supervisor being or department head. Employees will be compensated at their regular pay rate for the actual time served on jury duty. Proof of service is required upon completion of ury duty. Employees are expected to report to work when jury service is recessed or concludes early for the day. |
