Saint Francis University proudly has a Chaplain for each of its 23 intercollegiate athletic teams, as well as, spirit groups. SFU is one of a few schools in the nation that has a Sports Chaplain program, and the only one where every program has its own Chaplain to represent their respective team.

About the Team Chaplaincy Program

Throughout the academic year, Saint Francis University team chaplains provide personal and spiritual support to the student-athletes, coaches, and staff. The chaplain's role is designed to provide a healthy and balanced perspective to their team through spiritual encouragement, vision, and leadership development.

Chaplains also maintain a strong relationship with the coach; provide a healthy and balanced perspective to their team; and foster character development, personal growth, and transformational experiences for the student-athletes.

All chaplain activities are coordinated through the head coach and help to integrate the University's Catholic and Franciscan character throughout the intercollegiate athletic program.
