Such a position is typically warranted when it is the most optimal avenue for meeting a special curricular or other need related to the vision and mission of the University. The terms of such an arrangement are entered into on an individual case-by-case basis in order to satisfy the interests of both contractual parties. In addition, this category has the following benefits: parking on campus, library use, and network access and e-mail address. Visiting Faculty status is granted after nomination by a school dean and recommendation by the Chief Academic Officer. The President makes the final decision on conferral of Visiting Faculty status. Postdoctoral Fellowship This category is reserved for individuals who are engaged to conduct research, teach classes, and/or conduct workshops and other programs on a limited or periodic basis (usually not to exceed a maximum of two years). Such a position is typically warranted when it is the most optimal avenue for meeting a special research, curricular, or other need related to the vision and mission of a specific program and the University. The terms of such an arrangement are entered into on an individual case-by-case basis in order to satisfy the interests of both contractual parties. In addition, this category has the following benefits: parking on campus, library use, and network access and e-mail address. Postdoctoral Fellowship status is granted after nomination by a department chair who has the funding to support the Postdoctoral Fellow, nominated by the school dean and recommendation by the Chief Academic Officer.
